Create a site that can handle a large amount of content and data visualizations. In addition, the site needed to be flexible enough to handle the yearly addition of data and new locations researched.
Stakeholder and user interviews defined the approach to the project. Multiple rounds of sketches and wireframes were completed to find the clearest way of structuring information. User testing was done with five people on a prototype site to guarantee clarity for all users. Adjustments were made based on testing results and we created a more user friendly and inviting version of a potentially overwhelming amount of information.
A live site that is ready for the yearly increase of data while providing a clear structure and template for other locations. Improvements to the resources section by means of a taxonomy is currently in progress as of fall 2016.
